Paving crew shows up in front of my neighbours with about 6 different trucks and machines at 5:30 just as dozens of excited kids start roaming the street. Not safe.

So it turns out the official Mastodon web/mobile apps don't show alt texts yet, but I switched to Tusky and there they do show up! Good to know.
