Day 6 of being unemployed and here's what I've discovered...
The majority of the people you worked with for more than a decade won't even acknowledge that you're gone. You definitely learn who your true friends and colleagues are and that's a good thing.
Taking time to catch up on reading, cleaning, throwing out your old company's crap, is extremely cathartic. Cleansing your soul while cleaning your home :-)
Still no idea what's next but I'm using this time to clear my head and my house 😃
Day 2 of being unemployed: Who am I? What am I doing? What the f*** do I do now?!
I know this will pass and next week I’ll buckle down and figure out what I want to do when I grow up. But right now, I’m meandering through life by doing errands in the middle of the day, taking naps, reading books, and drinking wine.
Being laid off is stinky and freeing all at the same time…
About 40% of my teams have been laid off today. I'm not upset about myself but I'm sobbing over the amazing, smart, phenomenal team members losing their jobs.
They don't deserve this. They're amazing.
Ugh. It's been a day already and it's only 9:30am.
With a layoff at my now former company, lots of us have been impacted, including me. The good news is my calendar is now free and clear.
I have no idea what comes next but if you know of any #InternalCommunications roles in #Massachusetts, I'd really appreciate the heads up 😃
