However, there is no 'eventual' moment in politics. We were happy when BJP couldn't form government in Karnataka. When Congress was the single largest party in Goa. Modisha are out to bulldoze every ounce of democratic semblance in the state. There's no resting till they are around.
Mubi now has a India specific collection.
Wrote something after ages for a newspaper, on why we should resist reifying AI governance and pushing blame on algorithms w r t human decisions, in the light of the birdsite going after @sanjayuvacha and @ladkidyutiful.
I get nervous with non academic writing, as I don't want to dilute the argument but still want to make it as accessible and as non jargony as possible. Do have a read.

Five suicides in IIT Madras and the business is as usual there. I am sick and tired of this society.

It's the height of ridiculousness that even in the brink of 2020 one has to explain how reservation is not a poverty alleviation program but about representation. This 'ignorance' is not organic, it's intentionally sustained by those who were in power all these years.

Good people of Mastodon, I've been seeing a number of posts here that compare the Ayodhya judgment to a husband losing his wife to another man, treatment of rape victims etc. This is quite worrisome.

Women aren't property that one can win/lose claim over. Such comparisons reinforce the idea of ownership over women as passive objects. I have high hopes from this space and how we talk about women here.

So please do continue with the much-needed criticism, but please keep women out of it.

That apart, is there any scholarly work tracing the deep hatred for anything associated with Left in India, especially in the postcolonial period?
That Makrand Paranjape tweet has really riled up bhakts and now everyone is dancing in my mentions.
