I am endlessly frustrated by #Instagram deciding roughly once every three months to transform my algorithm into rightwing content overnight. I never know what, if anything, triggers it. As much as I appreciate the idea of an algorithm feeding you new interests, it's so defeating seeing the insidious biases of Silicon Valley meddling in real time.

I'm officially 6 months into my #Linux expiriment. Fedora KDE has been a blast. The only real program I've missed from Windows has been MusicBee, which is finicky in Wine, but Elisa and Picard have been adequate replacements with a different flow.

I can't see myself going back. The freedom on Linux has been so refreshing, and avoiding all the recent enshitification has taken such a load off. I'd wholeheartedly recommend the switch for anyone who doesn't need Windows for professional reasons.

Saw Courtney Barnett live in the desert last night. Super intimate show. Some of the best stage presence I've ever seen. After hearing her new tracks she was trying out for a live crowd, definitely looking forward to that next album.

Seeing Depreston live was a bucket list moment.

This song emerged from a stormy summer. Heartbreak can be a creative boon and stifling at the same time. It can cause intense emotions that you don't know how to put into words, but it can also lead to delusions of improvement and a yearning to be somewhere else in your life. I was in the premature "things will get better for me now!" stage of grief when this song appeared.

There's something about having your own music library that encourages you to deep dive and listen in a focused way. With streaming I always felt overwhelmed and disconnected. With maintaining a local library, I feel like I can truly appreciate my music again. The danger is hoarding though.
