In #Minneapolis today, four days before Christmas, the temperature is -5F/-21C and a blizzard is expected. So today is the day when Mayor Frey and the Metro Transit Police decided to destroy an under-bridge homeless encampment and confiscate their tents and propane tanks.
All homeless resources in the city are full.
No mainstream news covered this story.

As someone who lived in Oakdale and Maplewood in the '00s, I can attest to all of this. We never drank the water, we boiled everything, even to take baths because the water would give us rashes and make our hair fall out.

People who grew up in the communities where 3M dumped chemical waste for decades wonder why so many of them got cancer as kids, and why justice is elusive.

After the state settled its lawsuit with 3M in 2018, the AG made public thousands of internal 3M documents. We decided to read them all. They show 3M ignored, delayed, minimized and obscured research that raised red flags about the chemicals for decades: https://minnesotareformer.com/2022/12/15/toxic-3m-knew-its-chemicals-were-harmful-decades-ago-but-didnt-tell-the-public-government/

I'm really concerned about how much some of my fav YouTubers and Podcaster are advertising apps like BetterHelp and Headspace. BetterHelp gives me pause, especially concerning the low pay/working conditions for practitioners and privacy concerns for its users. In general, mental health apps sell your info to third parties and don't have to comply with HIPAA. I'm all for making mental health accessible, but these apps are not regulated well and come at the cost of your privacy.

One of my fav YouTubers breaks down some of the problems with BetterHelp here: https://youtu.be/JgMyp0QxQWs
