This might be the most magical thing I've ever 3D printed.
#3dprintingIs HDR just broken in Windows gaming? I have a nice HDR-capable monitor and finally tried it, and it just seems busted. Desktop can't understand it, even though Windows has a system option for it and getting it to work in games is sketchy af. Maybe I'm missing something obvious.
Jeebus. Crystal Method's Tweekend was released in 2001. I have no idea what's happened in the intervening years or how I got here.
My day so far has been spent cleaning house and fussing with the printer. PETG didn't want to behave, but has, I hope, been wrangled. Floors are tidy too.
My 12-yr-old while excitedly showing me a stunning array of seal and sea lion pics and videos:
"I really need to get into the seal fandom."
Oh hey, and then there's this.
It seems like describing your filament as "clog-free" is a recipe for disaster or, at least, disgruntled customers who have definitely proven you wrong. I also just spotted one that has "tidy winding", which made me chuckle. I can only assume that the rolls from this maker that don't have this claim were, in fact, wound by a maniac.
#3dprintingThese frickin' low poly Slither Wings I found on printables and printed out for my kid (who adores this damn Pokemon)were a real pain in the ass to glue. The sharp points all over the body cut my gloves, glue got on the tweezers, so parts stuck to it instead, and basically there's a reason I seldom do detail work on small things. But hey, it'll do, I guess.
I'm vaguely thinking about trying to do a website again, where I can express my thoughts about tech, games, and stuff I check out. I don't have any illusions people will care at this point, but I miss tech commentary and I still play with a lot of stuff even if I haven't done actual tech journalism in a while. I was never good at doing websites though and have no idea what the current offerings are for that sort of thing.
Having a job where you perpetually feel dumb and paranoid about it is not great for your health.
