Hmmm. And do you think this will lend itself to fun, spontaneous interactions between customers and staff, or perhaps to formulaic engagement, artificial sentiment, awkward moments and unconscious dissatisfaction?

Burger King will use AI to check if employees say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’

Burger King is launching a new AI assistant, called Patty, that will live inside employees’ headsets, allowing them to ask questions while they prepare food or clean machines.

@gcluley my local NHS "Trust" has signed one of those contracts with Palatir. I'm genuinely at a loss as to what healthcare option there is, if I don't want my subject data with them.
@keyboards Acorn Archimedes? 🤓

@nixCraft and yet, of all the players, Google design and manufacture (with partners) their own Tensor AI chips, which could potentially massively reduce cost vs NVidia & co.

Where they all fail is monetizing something that no one really wants to pay for.

WordPress / JetPack makes it easy to share posts to social networks. Not sure I’m seeing much benefit in sharing to some of them, the stalwarts in particular (Facebook, LinkedIn, Insta, Tumblr). Those silos have enough else going on, and I’m not really interested in traction there. Mastodon and Bluesky I’ll keep, for now. (https://dowe.uk/b/4jw1)

Sadly, a 2018 laptop struggles to continually re-compile software for a “minimal” system… Hmm. (https://dowe.uk/t/4jvP)
How I managed to get Emacs working in CRUX: An exercise in piecemeal software acquisition, compilation, installation and, occasionally, prayer. This post is more a stream-of-consciousness/experience than a well-structured account, and highlights the processes required to get Emacs-related software compiled and configured in CRUX.
