I’m resharing my old interview with John McAfee, originally released May 19, 2021.

John passed shortly after on June 23, 2021, while in prison.

He made a huge impact on tech, cybersecurity, crypto, privacy, and internet culture.

Now on YouTube: https://youtu.be/SQoHQXgidRU

Just launched 2 free tools:

📊 Content System Readiness Score: See if your content is planned, repeatable, measurable, or stuck in reactive posting.

🛡️ Social Profile Trust Scan: Check if your profile builds trust or just lists what you do.

Lovable has been game-changing.

I appreciate that it links to your LinkedIn with a certificate too!

I spent $300+ on Wix and hated the result. $300 on Lovable can build a better site with tools, SEO, security, and way more control.

I even built my own blog platform.

On my way to Platinum next.

What have you built with Lovable?

AI workflows are getting wild.

With Claude in Word, I can edit my book while I sleep.

Make.com can chain GPT, Notion, image prompts, and API-generated visuals into a 30-day content system in 10 mins.

Not perfect. But 90%+ of the busywork is gone.

What would you automate first?

The internet won’t decentralize itself.

Cloud, search, social, app stores, and AI are all becoming chokepoints.

Openness only survives if we choose owned channels, open protocols, and portable audiences.

Many “Web3 social” platforms came and went.

Hive is still one of the few ecosystems that actually has working apps, users, content, and a social layer beyond speculation.

I covered some of the major Hive dapps a while back, and the bigger point still holds up:

Decentralized social needs usable products, not just ideology.

The Dead Internet Theory was early, not wrong.

Bots crawl it. AI summarizes it. Agents act on it. Algorithms rank it. Scammers imitate people inside it.

The internet is not dead, but it is becoming less human.
