I may have committed light dyslexia (schtasks). I'm a basic task.

when developing any user-facing software, make localisation something you think about fairly early on in the development process. it gets a lot easier to work on in the future, even if you dont currently intend on it, if you already have groundwork laid out for it

also if you're developing for Desktop PCs keep a VM around with language and locale settings that does *everything* different from yours. make sure that even if your software only supports your own language and locale that it doesn't fuck up because of other people's settings. especially on Windows

I used to bake carefully from recipes and the kids would eat it. I ground up peanuts and ripe bananas and MSG into a paste and baked it for 35 minutes. Kids scarfed it down. Thanks MSG.

The #hummingbirds are back, or at least one of them, this male ruby-throated that came by last week and has been spotted a few times since. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more of them here as their annual #migration north proceeds.
