To follow up, the first time I got paid to write code was 27 years ago. This doesn't mean I'm three and a half times "better" than this person who has been coding for eight years. First of all, that's a meaningless statement. There are people who've been coding for just a few years who are undoubtedly better than me at certain aspects of coding. I'm just saying years of coding does not map to quality coding. I would never say, "I've been coding for 27 years so I know what I'm talking about."

I have to admit, AI has saved me a lot of time. Every time I start reading about some interesting new app or service or product and see that it has "AI", I immediately stop reading and don't waste any more time on that thing.

I know I've mentioned it a few times, but I still find the Apple petitions and open letters and complaints amusing. I left the platform in 2010 (weeks before Jobs' Thoughts on Flash fwiw). It was obvious back then that they would just use their strength to crush anything that was competitive to them. Nothing has changed. It is and will always be the most closed of closed platforms. They control the hardware and which OS and apps you can run on it. Nobody should be shocked by any of this. 1/x
