lately ive been feeling pretty doomer about the internet and the direction technology is headed… is this maybe a great time to practice radical acceptance? probably…

but what i can say is that even though my childhood was not perfect, right now, i do miss those simpler times of coming home from school, exploring the internet and holding an excited dreamlike wonder about the direction of the future, maybe one day it’ll come back

Im so tired of corporations ruining everything… #discord was a social platform that I enjoyed, and even supported with my nitro subscription, but today after the news, I unsubscribed, along with many of my friends.

I currently run a community on there so I can’t be on the #deletediscord camp just yet but I’m definitely looking for alternatives for my community! Such as @revoltchat or now known as #stoat

A really sad development.

i’m currently in #sydney and went on a small #nostalgia trip, i visited all the shops and parks i frequented in the suburb of my childhood. there was one shop however that was replaced by a cafe. the shop that i was looking for was run by a sweet old #japanese lady that i used to purchase sakura mochi from as a child. i went to the neighbouring shop and asked about her and was told that she passed away a year and a half ago, she was very kind, and i, too late, i shed a few tears…

I don't understand how
the people who want to protect their own sensitive information from corporations in order to stay safe and not become victims are deemed paranoid,

But the corporations demanding
to verify our identity asking for our legal name, gender, sex, date of birth, email, phone number, home address, location, IP address, MAC address, list of apps, purchase history, access to contacts, device model, official ID, passport, birth certificate, fingerprints, facial scan, palm scan, iris scan, preferred sleeping side, and underwear color are not? 🤨
