The 'official' Mastodon for weird gamesoft review site, Gaming Hell! The old game site with guts! Huge guts!!

An unexpected update- citing " unexpectedly high manufacturing costs and current tariffs", the gun peripheral for Clear River Games' Operation Night Strikers physical release has been cancelled.

The game's special edition itself will still be releasing as planned.

This week's Arcade Archives release is Jaleco's D-Day from 1984. Make your way across the ocean taking out enemies on land, sea and air with your anti-air guns and ground-based missiles!

If I have this right, this means all the pre-order exclusive games from modern Taito collections- Sagaia GB, Space Invaders '90, Final Bubble Bobble SMS, Puzzle Bobble SNES, R-Gear and Time Gal Rebirth- are available separately (mostly on Japan storefronts).

The one-stage demo of R-GEAR, the cancelled sequel to RauForce, is now available to buy (Japan only). This was originally an Amazon Day pre-order exclusive for the Ray'z Arcade Chronology collection a few years ago.

Out of nowhere, Mario Paint is now available on SNES Nintendo Classics on Switch 1 & 2! If you're on Switch 1, you'll need a USB mouse to play, but it's there! Paint, animate, make music, swat flies!

Also in this update: you can now finally reconfigure controls for SNES games to your liking~

This week's Arcade Archives release is Stinger, the first Seibu Kaihatsu game (when they were Seibu Denshi). Make your way to the enemy base, rescuing helper BONGO robots from abandoned space stations, while fighting off the Biotrons!
