This is hilarious. After decades where the conservatives pushed for “religious exemptions” based on “sincerely held beliefs”, a Catholic woman working at tech company just won a religious exemption: she won’t have to use AI in her work.

She won an exemption from using AI at her tech job. The Pope's remarks could fuel similar appeals.

Legal experts say employers must take AI-related religious objections seriously, as a 2023 ruling raised the bar for denying such accommodations.

Every time someone sends me a screenshot of some genius indicating that I have personally destroyed EFF by being a blue-haired Jewish lesbian, I grow more powerful.
You can tell a lot about a person by how they behave when someone they like or that they need something from is accused of sexual assault.

"I've heard that a dragon can always find a princess."

"We can always find," said the dragon, "what we hoard."

"You have been known to gather princesses. You'd know."

The Blight Reaches Microsoft: 73 Repos Disabled in 105 Seconds

GitHub disabled 73 Microsoft repositories across four of its GitHub organizations — the entire Azure Functions org, the whole Durable Task family, and a row of AI sample apps — in a 105-second sweep on June 5. I set up my first gaming PC running Linux in 21 years today.

It's now much easier.

Plug in USB stick, boot, install, reboot. The Ubuntu app store had Steam, and Nvidia drivers auto installed... all the audio, trackpad on the laptop etc just worked out of box.

The usual Steam GUI and most games work with zero effort, it auto installs a compatibility layer so Windows versions just.. uhm.. work.

It's really impressive.

well that's the sign of a market top if i've ever seen one. they are clearly running out of keys to jingle. https://techcrunch.com/2026/06/04/founders-fund-launches-game-show-starring-sam-altman-palmer-luckey-and-other-tech-elites/

It is natural to know despair in dark times, to feel dread and uncertainty. But do not immerse yourself in doom. Seek out joy and inspiration, wherever you can find it, to keep despair from being the only feeling you have space for.
