I recently switched to wetdry.world because of the awesome features to format posts, e.g. the ability to mark code block etc.

However I'm wondering why some posts are missing from my timeline. For example, I couldn't see https://rollenspiel.social/@ArneBab/115046144192198311 in my timeline even though it is tagged with TeXLaTeX, a tag which I follow.

I check the list of moderated servers, but can't see rollenspiel.social there. Do I have to change some setting in my profile or is this a feature of the instance?

I recently switched to wetdry.world and am really happy with the features, but am wondering if there might be similar instances a bit closer to software development.

I have turned qualpal (my C++/R/CLI package for generating qualitative color palettes for categorical data) into a web app! It has support for generating color palettes from both fixed input (existing palettes) and the HSL color space, supports extending existing palettes, and provides analysis of the results.

Please try it out at https://qualpal.cc!

This year's Bavarian #TeXLaTeX user meeting #BayTeX will take place on 23./24. August 2025 in Ebermannstadt - it sounds as if there are going to be lots of trains <3

Is anyone looking to hire someone with lots of experience in data analysis and statistics, possibly as a software developer? Specifically related to data science, data engineering or backend development.

I have five years of experience modelling biological processes and data using statistics and more general mathematics as a computational research scientist in stem cell research and writing software to that end. Last year I pivoted to modelling industrial processes and developing our in-house Rust/R/Python/Julia software instead. Unfortunately my employer has now decided to restructure and is letting pretty much all of us go.

I am a fast learner and I have been told that I am an independent problem solver with high initiative. I am located in Mannheim, Germany, I am looking for either fully remote positions or things around this region.

Bonus points if a job features trains or typesetting as I have spent a bunch of time with train schedules, time tables and typesetting personally.
