It feels like summer here in #Amsterdam and even this #hummingbird hawk #moth thinks so: it was in my allotment garden sampling the early daffodils. Normally we occasionally see one mid summer, but #climatechange is changing that too. #bugoftheday

This is a new message to you where you can see that alot seems two different types of reply exists in Mastodon. It has a yellow arrow, in the middle of the screenshot.That happens if you remove the name tag of the person you reply to (in Phanpy). And in Phanpy I get no notifications of these replies.

The Netherlands has an unusual amount of snow this week, but until yesterday #amsterdam was almost snowfree. Than for a day we had a beautiful black and white fairy town. Today colour returned and how!

For our collection freezing phenomena @czarbucks : last night the first night of serious subzero temperatures. In my allotment garden some white frost on the ground, but most had melted in the sun. This porous stone however is still covered with several mm of #ice! The other bricks are not!
The nasturtium will not survive this. But in the tiny front garden of my house in the center of #Amsterdam it was just warm enough, even though the bridges over the canals were very slippery this morning.

Cycling through the main park in #amsterdam , the #vondelpark, I noticed this lady. Close to her some doves, but all around a lot of #crows who are also very interested in the food. But they do not come as near. @czarbucks @jastrow

After months of drought and heat we finally got two much needed heavy showers and lower temperatures. But these poor two young woodpigeons have no idea what happened to them!
But we are pleased to see that our brand new terrace is watering off quite well! #drought #rain #shower #pigeon "#woodpigeon

I harvested my first two Small Sweet Sugar Pie Pumpkins today. In reality even more intensely orange! Two more are still ripening .
Does anyone have a good (original?) recipe for pumpkin pie?

Surprise on our compost this morning. This grew overnight on our compost. Coffee filter (from yesterday) for size. Would this be a slime mold?

Nu begin ik me serieus oud te voelen. Bij het onderschrift een flinke laag sneeuw (NOS nieuws) als de sneeuw net een beetje dekt, zie ik echte dikke pakken sneeuw voor me uit de vorige eeuw...
