GENUINE MASTODON ADMINS WILL NEVER ASK YOU TO VERIFY!

There is a real verification system on Mastodon, but it's entirely optional and does not involve credit cards. Genuine verification is voluntary and based on website ownership.

Aside: this is a *major* reason why I quit Bluesky and deleted my account some months back.

I would block a baddie, and because that crap is PUBLIC on Bluesky (?!?), that basically creates a "hate list" that's easily exploitable. And of course folks were exploiting it!

If you're going to use Bluesky, strongly recommend not blocking folks unless they're specifically harassing you. And don't block big accounts, that crap can come back to haunt you.

I went the other way, and deleted my account.

As BlueSky has become a platform for domestic terrorists in the Democratic People’s Republic of America, Mastodon is now the only place I currently will be posting updates on my writing. All links in the other place have been removed. If you haven’t already, I also recommend bookmarking the series on AO3. This will allow you to see when I upload a new chapter.

During our flight over from Anchorage, one of my coworkers and I were chatting. It was dark out so we could see a little bit of the auroras. He had this cool app that shows the forecast for the lights and I asked him what it was. I just remembered about it. Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the app. And we just had lunch this afternoon too.
