How many of today's five countries can you guess?

Whereabouts

As promised here is my most recent update post. I don't put these on my main blog ... partly because I wanted to keep this part of my life away from my main blog, but also (and maybe mostly) because I wanted to write my own blog engine in Django 🤷🏻‍♂️

End of Week 6: The hardest week

Python Morsels – by @treyhunner – are an absolute joy. Short, insightful articles on Python topics you may think you already know.

I almost always have a moment where I go "Huh! I never thought of it like that before." The writing is so clear and thoughtful. 10/10 would recommend. (And in fact I am doing so.)

Last ⚡️and I even got a certificate of completion! The team that treated me was amazing and I’ll miss them … but also hoping I don’t ever have to see them with that frequency again 😅

All that’s left now if my last dose of chemo meds tonight … and some time to heal. And then whatever is next.

I’ve got some real feels about this picture and it will make its way into my next update post!

It’s been a long 6 weeks but getting to see @bmispelon and @pythonbynight yesterday, hang out, and feel like a “normal” person for just a couple of hours was amazing. Thank you both so much for making the drive out. It really was the best!

Django 6.1 alpha 1 released

Django Project
I have done a worse job keeping a conference scrap book this year than I intended to. Feel free to share your anecdotes, photos, recap blog posts, etc. to fill in the gaps.

While sitting at the @pycon sprints table for T-Strings, I asked someone to google "Django Hello World". We were not impressed by the results. The top one was a GitHub repo that is wrong in several ways.

So I quickly coded up a repo that is really just the Django welcome screen. But accurate. And hopefully acts as a gateway to future more-in-depth resources.

It was wonderful to be mentioned during Tim and Rachell's keynote.

I joined the Djangonaut Space community at the first session, and since then, I have received support that I never dreamed of.

I'm so happy to be in Djangonaut Space 🚀
