Torbreck stone circle, just outside Inverness.

Hi to all the new followers, but I’ll be migrating to .ie server in thr next week or so, so come find me there. Name in the box thing on profile (sorry, still learning). I’ll try to manually copy over follower/following to new server too. This is jsut fair warning.
This scaling discovery is another case study in using the wrong tool for the job. Mastodon relies on postgres, which requires careful tuning. https://mastodon.social/@fields@hachyderm.io/109373956025645684 Most of these database servers are written with the expectation of running on dedicated machines, with a dedicated admin configuring resource usage. For use with co-resident applications, you need something smarter like OpenLDAP and/or LMDB.
I'll be migrating my account over to another server the few next weeks, once I figure it out - I will find you all again!
Tooting the Irish president with one of his dogs because every social media platform should see this and we need to see more dogs here! 💚 Boost away!

Thanks for coming on this journey with me on the origins and evolution of the #IrishCaveBones project.

Sláinte, R

Also, I want to say I have enjoyed and learned from, in recent years discussing various aspects on Ireland's past with several colleagues (Allan McDevitt and Daniel Buckley) and ... #IrishCaveBones
So there ye have it, we are up to date on the long running #IrishCaveBones project, 2007 to today and into the next two years of exciting cutting edge research and investigations. Stay tuned here or elsewhere (see Alt text on photo below for details). Thank you for reading! Ruth
And I’m not forgetting the most important #UnseenHeritageHeroes cave archaeologists on our excavations, who brave the dark underbelly of our island’s palaeo/lands - our magic team - Phil Kenny, Clare Ryan, Louise Callan and Keziah Warburton. #IrishCaveBones
We are also working with the highly regarded archaeological & heritage photographer, Ken Williams
