A fun pastime is to get an LLM to write some code, and then paste it immediately back into the same LLM and ask it to look for problems. β€œWow, some real idiot wrote this!” it will say, so close to an epiphany.
Stopped using @elk for Mastodon on the web, site was becoming too buggy so I’m now back to just logging in to Mastodon directly. Switched to OpenVibe @openvibe on my phone and love it! Nice being able to see both BlueSky and Mastodon in the same feed and be able to cross-post!

Listen, I know I'm a language nerd, but why the hell we stumble all over ourselves with "LGBTQIA" instead of using

QuILTBAG

is wholly beyond me.

#PETITION

@samerfarha That kind of attitude is the natural end result of decades of β€œindividual liberties” and β€œbut muh rights!” being relentlessly pounded into people…to look out for yourself and to hell with everybody else.
Mastodon is notoriously a difficult place for new users to establish themselves and learn their way around. Now, of all times, it is important for us to throw our doors open and welcome newcomers. Bashing them about transgressions of rules they don't yet understand isn't helpful. Friendly reminders to help them understand may be. And most of all help them find their People. Finding some folks have a very incorrect impression of #Mastodon.

Re: possible new wave of folks leaving X for other platforms...

It seems like the notion that Mastodon is hard to sign up on and hard to use ended up sticking, because I still see this claim making the rounds in some corners, and people I follow on Instagram who are on X are talking of going to BlueSky. Which is a shame because I think the improvements @Gargron made to on-boarding really addressed those early concerns. I still refuse to even experiment with BlueSky, I've heard too many people say the site has a large Nazi/MAGA presence that I've not really encountered here.

@benroyce The company should be 100% liable for their deaths.
