@victor I hate AI agents because when you ask for a human, they reply “sure, I’ll get you connected.”
But it’s impossible to know if that’s because they’re actually connecting you to a human or if they just think that’s the correct thing to say to my message based on the statistical likelihood of those words following the ones I’ve just sent it.
@tweak captures my sentiment too. I’m not sure who their subscription is aimed at exactly, but I don’t feel it’s aimed at me, and I’m not confident building my business on it.
I feel that even more strongly now that Apple is in charge. My relationship with Apple as a “Pro User” for the past decade+ has been one spent fearing they’re going to EOL the software I rely on to run my business. I really don’t want to rely on Apple for anything that isn’t a core product/service for them.

Before Szymon sold MotionVFX (or left or whatever), I would've said each and every of their options was worth considering. It changed after that. Then subscriptions showed up. Still a great resource, I just feel that they lost something important back at that point.

Ok, this explains all of the weirdness from last week RE discontinuing plugins and the support folks being kinda useless about it.
@ravi as someone who owns three Mac minis, and all three live in a rack, I am mildly inconvenienced by the form factor change. 😅 (They’re very popular in the IT/AV/broadcast world.)
Sometimes you just have to wonder what’s in the water in Cupertino. (This isn’t a new thing, of course.)

My motivation for thinking about lightning was that my phone’s usbc port has gotten lint in it, and I’m not sure how I’ll get it out. Lightning was super easy to clean!
