I know they are legitimately big stories but I'm burned out on AI related news reports. This is how the future happens, not with revolution but slinking past exhaustion.

"Hey, Apple Music, you know my tastes, play stuff."

"Sure thing Rogan, we know it's morning and you're trying to wake up so how about some bluesy slow ZZ Top rock, maybe from the Raw album."

Maybe I'll just pick something myself.

#COBOL just came up in work chat and I'm far too amused at the idea that came into my brain of someone an #opensource ILS with turbo pascal. I won't be that person but I'd applaud someone who did.
People following my tooting of the indigenous knowledge discussion probably don't care but I'm suddenly craving fresh cinnamon rolls.
Erika speaking to challenges indigenous researchers face, "discrimination really appears to be at the heart of these issues with almost across the board indigenous respondents saying that their research is often viewed from a Western perspective and unfortunately therefore is considered inferior, inferior, irrelevant or not referable within the canon." @NISOInfo
Erika Valenti from Emerald Publlishing talking about their commitment to supporting fighting social injustices. Yay! Business champions of good causes are critical for social progress. @NISOInfo
Joy Owango talking about using podcasts and TikTok to increase visibility. Very proactive of them and smart I think. Too many entities join a platform just as the next generation is leaving it. @NISOInfo
"Now, why are we keen on this and why is it exciting for us? And also it's exciting. And at same time, scary is because from a global South perspective, it is literally the global South that has suffered when it comes to indigenous loss of indigenous knowledge because we've not quite figured out how to protect it and how far back, especially when it comes to provenance, how far back you are able to protect your data." Definitely something I need to learn more on. @NISOInfo
"The Africa alliance is a community of enthusiasts in and from Africa, aiming to lead and realize a fair sharing of access and data through the use of persistent identifiers in innovation, research and technology within the cultural, scientific and cross-industry ecosystems." So cool. I'm making notes on more things to read up on. Exciting! @NISOInfo
