Programmer by day, thinks about old games a bit too much by night by making videos on them.

Existentially tired and here for interesting games talk, and not quick dunks or s*itposting.

Been taking some time to work on a small prototype with #Godot. Wanted to do take onSuper Sprint for ages, and finally started it.

Lots to do for the AI still, but it's the first time I've been able to get multiple cars (Red's under player control, while the others are AI driven) on a track together.

Just need to have them evade the player (they can evade each other), and it'll feel pretty good.

Been a little busy coding up something for Atari’s “I, Rebel” jam, which you can go and play!

"The Beastly Siege of Irata 7" is an arcade blaster in which you've got to protect your beast from hostile attack.

I had to dig this up out of my cupboard. The boxed copy of #C64 Red Storm Rising I got a fair few years back.

Basically sealed (at the time anyway), though I cracked the wrapping. Still all in good order.

(And yes, it’s a disk copy, because you don’t want to play this off tape. It take up *3* of the things! Both sides even!)

I always use going to the monthly #Amiga/ #C64 group to try and dive into a more involved game which might be worth covering.

Might just be a result of rewatching Hunt for Red October earlier in the week, but kind of got some sub warfare on the mind…

…so Red Storm Rising it is.

It seemed apt to throw on The Hunt for Red October this evening.

Looks like someone turned the draw distance down.

Or maybe I just woke up in Silent Hill.

(They also turned the weather down too. *shivers*)

Been having a little existential creative crisis, so sat down to noodle about with some pixelling for a game (ie. Super Sprint style racer) I want to proto on the Spectrum Next.

Still need to prep the rotation frames (and other player colours), then I can at least mess about with the driving code - because making that feel good is always the tricky part.

Happy (ALMOST) Birthday to me.

Celebrating this week with a couple of streams featuring a bunch of random C64 games good and bad.

And a little donation fun to prioritise the bad ones ;)

Had a little comfort movie watch, and now have the 130XE up and running for capture duties, with a version of a classic I’m not that familiar with…

Time for some 64k of fun (and b-roll recording).

Sometimes it means I can have some fun, and other times (like now), it’s something infuriating.

The fun of enjoying the 8-but days, that’s for sure.
