The perfect BDay card for those of us approaching half a century in age doesn't exist ...

A physical reminder of outings by various family members this past week. Although the larger Well Before masks are split between spouse and teenager.

Y'all. I was having a full on Pikachu face today when I found discrepancies in what metabolites were included in my datasets and what were included in a colleagues datasets when we processed identical experiments from Metabolomics Workbench (I am borrowing some stuff they did with the exact same experiments to supplement my own work).

Digging into it, I'm removing things that are missing across more than X number of samples, the colleague kept everything. 😮‍💨

Got the last batch of N95 masks re sterilized so if we need to be in public spaces a bunch more than usual due to power outages they are ready to go.

Radar shows precipitation, but nothing on the ground yet.

I realize that lots of falling precipitation can fizzle out before it hits the ground, but this feels like quite the disconnect.

In this lab, we try to cite our software tools. Hopefully they won't get removed by the primary author. But at least they are there to start.

Each comment here is a citation (I don't have Endnote, and I'm not sure how they are managing the citations, so it seemed easier to add them all as comments). There are more on the next page, but I figured this page was illustrative of what we should strive for as #academics citing our tools.

Eldest had some money to order the #Lego Ninjago Lloyd's Jet Mech, and I had enough insider points to cover 95% of this lovely looking beast.

Now with a top!

Might be spring before it's sanded and painted.

Christmas Eve dinner! So much less stress, and makes Christmas Day more enjoyable, when I only have to get a homemade pizza together.

Had pumpkin pie for dessert.

Snow Day!

Except we homeschool, and I work from home. 🫤
