“Statuette intended to hold a mummified cat
Ptolemaic Period (332-30 BcE) From Egypt, findspot unknown

We can identify Bastet here based on features shared with statuettes that depict her as a cat-headed woman. A wedjat eye pendant hangs from her incised collar, and holes in each ear indicate she once had earrings. Additionally, a lightly incised scarab on top of her head may refer to Bastet's role as an Eye of Re, one of the sun god's protectors. It has also been suggested that it evokes the striped patterning of fur on cats' heads.”
Also one of your cats Min(?) might be reincarnated Egyptian. I think all the mummy business might have worked 🤪
Randall Munroe's #XKCD comic has the power to make you laugh, to make you think ... and sometimes to make you cry. For the right reasons.
Wishing another fifteen (and many more) to Randall Munroe, his wife (name unknown but it's not Megan), and everyone else. #FuckCancer
