I'm weird.

Comment I saw on a post about the new Discord age verification nonsense:

"Teen-by-default seems to be a popular choice these times among the rich"

Fucking LOL.

Reason Discord is in the news rn: https://techcrunch.com/2026/02/09/discord-to-roll-out-age-verification-next-month-for-full-access-to-its-platform/

Particular point of note:

"It’s worth noting that Discord disclosed last October that around 70,000 users may have had sensitive data, such as their government ID photos, exposed after hackers breached a third-party vendor that the platform uses for age-related appeals."

All users will be put into a "teen-appropriate experience" by default unless they prove that they are adults.

GitHub and Copilot is a match made in heaven for developers, according to Micro$oft’s Satya Nadella:

“During Microsoft's July 30, 2025 earnings call, CEO Satya Nadella said GitHub Copilot continued to exhibit strong momentum and had reached 20 million users.”

GitHub’s most popular feature requests from GitHub users:

“How do we remove this chicken-shit feature?”

just like to point out that ouija boards are cheap, have very little environmental impact, predate chatgpt by over 100 years, and are just as capable at telling you what you'd like to hear

they may be harder to use at first but with a little dedication most people should have no trouble getting the results they want

...even a long-term Linux user can't figure out how to get more awareness of this bug that's been around for 14 years???

Thoughts?

Even though I've submitted many bug reports, and contributed to documenting issues as best I can to help developers, this is a mess.

I can't figure out how to make devs aware of this issue now. It's bothersome that someone could open my laptop on suspend and see what I'm doing. Despite using the tools developed to auto-lock and suspend, I cannot rely on it to do what I expect it to (lock my screen and display the login when restarting).

How can a newbie to Linux expect to help when... CONTD
