There's the dark web, which I don't know a lot about, but seems to use the same infrastructure but somehow be totally orthogonal to the regular internet. Can we have a light web?

Can we create a new internet, that is exactly the same as the old internet? By "old internet" I mean late 90s, early to mid 2000's.

We don't have to shut down the current internet. It can go on and people who want to use it can use it to get the algorithm feed.

@junklight I hear Berchtesgaden is lovely this time of year (the year in question being 1940)
In buying an EV, I have noticed that I recoil from sales assistants who say shit like "it will just take me a few minutes to load that up" instead of "I need to ask if we can source one from one of our other outlets". Even a low price can't compensate for dealing with people who won't talk straight.
@rachel that is very much the startup experience in my view. It just. Keeps. Happening.
One of the programs that came with my BBC micro was a CPU simulator called Peeko Computer.Think Human Resource Machine for an era where we had attention spans but no graphics. I remember learning a lot about machine code from it. So, forty years later I've found a manual for it and I've remade it in the browser. Mostly for nostalgic interest only: https://peeko.whitebeard.blog/ But, enjoy!

We’re all just drops from an ocean, forced into the isolation of our own skin bags, longing to return to that joined source.

The internet is a crutch, simulating a false sense of linkage, permitting the actual connective tissues inside us to atrophy.

Anyway, be sure to like and subscribe.
