A pixel art image processing app for iOS
Retrospecs lets you convert images and video clips so they appear as they would on a variety of home computers and consoles from the 70's, 80's and 90's. You can also create your own custom conversions, palettes and character sets.

Ooo… reet posh.
If you've a mac running Sequoia or newer, you can also grab the current TestFlight beta over on…
It’s not extensive, but I have a non-trivial collection of original NES, SNES, and N64 cartridges. Does anyone have first-hand experience doing battery replacements on those who could give recommendations or point me to resources you found helpful? Any good lists to identify which games have batteries?
I just cleaned a battery explosion out of an old Mac, and it just occurred to me, I’ve got some other decades old batteries chilling in some of those. It is Zelda’s 40th anniversary after all.
Here's where things are currently at.
There's a long way to go in terms of fleshing out the editors and adding import and export tools, but all of the new options in the re-written underlying engine are available to explore and experiment with.

I guess this happened then. 🤔
I'm doing SNES DEV GAME JAM 2026 (Aug/Sep/Oct) with an old prototype: Super Wild Cart
It would be fun to work in a team, so any pixel & audio folks with real SNES experience: get in touch!
I'd front load my gamedev…then chip away as team over duration.
In Chapter 9 of my serialized memoir, it's 1986, Heartland for the ZX Spectrum ships, and the reality of shipping 10 games in a year for Firebird/Telecomsoft means our brand new Amiga 1000s have to be set aside in favor of cranking out points for the contract.
Pictured are Colin Grunes (left) and me at the Odin Computer Graphics booth in the Firebird/Telecomsoft area, 1986 PCW Show, Olympia.

One side effect of the work on the underlying engine used within Retrospecs is that the Pixel Processor macOS app has lurched back into life to act as a testbed.
At some point it might even see a release. Maybe. 🤔
