Bluesky and Mastodon users have drastically different perceptions to the UK's new age verification laws: either treating their platform is exactly the same as a Big Tech platform, or assuming their network is so different the laws dont apply
I think it's too simple a rule. There is truth that you should not feel fear of leaving if need be, but equally you can fall into the grass is greener trap.
It's more important to give techniques to people. Give them techniques to help them properly sample reality, inform them so they can make better decisions.
The above is an example throwing a platitude at someone that diagnoses a course of action without understanding their context.
