#ratacademy hello folks it's been a minute - probably spinning down the ol' mastodon instance, due to me not really using it anymore and it costing me like $20/monththat I'd rather not spend. (and also i am lazy and don't want to update it) gonna wait til next month so there's time to migrate off if you need it

We're back! Bike-bus returns this Sunday.

We depart from Amsterdam Tavern 75 mins before kickoff, pick up folks along the route, and return along the same route after the game. All bikes and skill levels are welcome – we try to maintain a 9-12 mph pace on low-traffic streets and we'll use the recently completed bike trail from Scott Ave to CITYPARK.

Meet new people, get some exercise, save money, and show your CITY pride!

Check our Meetup page for all the details: meetup.com/stlurbanists

i'm trying hurl. seems neat, and they've got a --variables-file option that might work for what i want

how do people do what insomnia (the http/rest client) does without using insomnia? is it just curl in shell scripts?

the thing that seems missing there that i want is the idea of variables that can change in different environments (i.e. the same api request, that needs an api key, but i want to be able to choose to run it w/ my local api key or my prod api key)

i was building my own thing to do this and i should probably finish it..

i'm really excited to show https://compost.party to the world! it's a web server running on an old, broken phone, getting energy from the sun using one of those portable solar chargers that you may also have lying around.

it's a real oddity and a real beauty

i've got 1Block and wipr on iOS Safari and both of them still get tripped up by some anti-adblock tech that ublock origin doesn't have problems with at all

(also the whole "extensions are only in the app store" thing is a little silly, but I guess makes sense in some ways)

article & comments on lobsters about how chrome monoculture is bad makes me wonder...is there a good safari adblocker? honestly, i'd like to use it more but ublock origin is too good and seems like there isn't an equivalent?
