They say it can’t be done, but here we are, California is generated 106% of California’s entire state electricity demand from renewables.
California has a population bigger that 154 other countries around the world. It’s the 4th largest economy, in the world.
Let that sink in.

Good news! In 2024, for the first time ever in the U.S., solar and wind energy combined generated more electricity than coal!
Wind and solar combined accounted for 17% of the U.S.’s electricity mix while coal fell to 15%.
It’s projected that 95% of all capacity to be added to the U.S. grid in 2025 will be from clean energy sources too.

This is an exciting development: Proteus Marine Renewables installed a 1.1 MW tidal turbine in the coastal waters of Japan!
Why is this important you ask?
Tidal energy offers a constant clean energy supply, which normally is only found in geothermal energy or nuclear energy power plants.
And, ~40% of the world’s population lived within 20 miles of an ocean coastline, making tidal energy an importent potential source to clean energy for billions of people one day in the future.
I’m writing a newsletter article that will share some really amazing stories of how solar has been used to create benefits to communities in ways you wouldn’t expect or perhaps think of.
