Writing code, mostly to help people charge their electric vehicles. I'm a contributor to the OCPI and OCPP standards in that space.

Riding my bike far away, with a tent and a sleeping bag and all that.

Trying to play a guitar and also a mandolin (doom metal and punk and bluegrass).

Holder of a lot of opinions but at this point I'm trying to keep my mouth shut about those.

Living in Edmonton, Canada. Formerly in the Netherlands, in Amsterdam, Utrecht or Didam.

"From rallies to strikes, marches to gatherings, this September 20th, communities will mobilize across the country and demand that Prime Minister ‪@mark-carney.bsky.social‬ and the Canadian government pick a side: injustice, violence, and climate destruction—or a just and safe future for all of us." Please come out on September 20.

Canada | Draw the Line - For people, for peace, for the planet

We refuse to stand by while the government and Canada’s richest corporations hoard wealth, gut our public services, fuel climate collapse, attack migrants, exploit Indigenous lands, and prop up a genocide.

I wrote a bit of a brain dump of my experiences with agentic coding. I feel threatened, I'm unsure about the future but I absolutely believe it's going to stay: https://chris.eidhof.nl/post/agentic-coding/

I was wondering if this is the horticultural equivalent of the infamous Hitler beetle. Turns out it's just the damn-you-autocorrect version of the Feuerkugel (fireball).
In the last five years, we've gone from "employees will never have to go into an office" to "employees need to be in the office because creative and innovative work can only be done face-to-face between humans" to "lol we don't need humans"
So Bike Edmonton and the Old Strathcona Farmers Market are offering a Bike Valet again this year. The bikes are checked in and guarded by volunteers. You can sign up here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScTtTTFxqYcs0e2-F9U6MkN0sRXQlAIiDV1E-PxjawgDvK1zA/viewform. You get 50% off in the market café during your shift. #yegbike #shoplocal #yegdt
2025 Bike Valet at Old Strathcona Farmers Market

Thanks for your interest in volunteering for Old Strathcona Farmers Market to ensure the Bike Valet returns for summer 2025. OSFM is partnering with local volunteer organisations as well as Old Strathcona Cycles to staff the valet this year. Bike Edmonton has agreed to coordinate rostering for OSFM. We hope you will meet new people, make friends with other volunteers from other organisations and have some fun along the way! The role of supervising bicycle parking involves: 1. Greeting market patrons 2. Taking in bicycles 3. Giving a receipt to the bicycle owner 4. Collecting and recording usage statistics 5. Supervising the bikes 6. Returning the bikes back to their owners once the market patron returns as well as being generally available to answer questions relating to the bike parking and Bike Edmonton during your shift; and ensuring of course that bikes aren't stolen/removed by unauthorised person(s)! You don't need to know everything about Bike Edmonton or OSFM to participate. We'll give you some tips on how to answer questions and you can always refer people to our website. Bring a book or a friend, and enjoy. A minimum of two volunteers are required for each shift. As a thank you for your time and efforts, OSFM has agreed to discount food purchases from Paperbirch cafe by 50% for all volunteers during their shift. Priority will be given to existing volunteers and volunteers who have helped at other events, however we will match new volunteers with more experienced volunteers wherever possible. Don't let these details discourage you from signing up. We love to see new people out at events and we will make sure you're trained for your volunteer role.

Ride of the Fancy Women 2025!

(I helped marshal! It was fun!)

I'm not normally a #nomowmay practitioner but holiday made it so this year. Especially today the insect party time seems to have started. Does this confirm my suspicion that #nomowmay should be more like #nomowlatemayearlyjune in Alberta? #gardening
