On my way to @fosdem where tomorrow I’ll be talking about @servo in the "Browser and web platform" devroom. See you there!

Really happy to see the evolution of the @servo project in the last years since @igalia took over maintenance in 2023

Check the result before and after having support for ::search-text in this video.
You can now easily customize find-in-page with the new ::search-text pseudo-element, that is shipping in Chromium 144.0.7547. 🚀

Thanks to Bloomberg for sponsoring this work.

Martin Robinson and Oriol Brufau from @igalia giving a deep dive into @servo's layout engine at GOSIM Hangzhou
Some quick experiments playing with the new caret-animation and caret-shape CSS properties that @igalia is developing in Chromium as part of our collaboration with Bloomberg https://blogs.igalia.com/mrego/playing-with-the-new-caret-css-properties/
Two new nice additions by @igalia on the last Safari Technology Preview (https://mastodon.social/@jensimmons@front-end.social/114179361287169077).
* Trusted Types API has been enabled by default (sponsored by Salesforce).
* Reference Target initial support available behind a feature flag (sponsored by NLnet Foundation). This makes the example from my last blog post (https://blogs.igalia.com/mrego/solving-cross-root-aria-issues-in-shadow-dom/#the-proposed-solution-reference-target) to have the right accessibility label for the button.
Solving Cross-root ARIA Issues in Shadow DOM

Igalia has gotten a grant from NLnet Foundation to work on finding solutions for the cross-root ARIA problems in Shadow DOM.

So happy to see the results of the work on @servo during the last couple of years to bring the project back to life. This effort has been lead by @igalia with the help of the wider Servo community. Thanks everyone!
