WeTransfer just changed their ToS to allow them to train AI on any files you transfer through them.

Don't use there service, especially for work that you don't have the right to relicense to them (e.g., commercial work that's exactly the most likely to create the huge files WeTransfer specializes in).

(ETA: this is already going boom so I'm muting it.)

Investors snap up growing share of US homes as traditional buyers struggle to afford one

Real estate investors are buying a larger share of U.S. homes as high prices and borrowing costs deter traditional buyers

What's particularly troubling is that this isn't just about individual choice, it's a question about collective responsibility. When vaccination rates drop below the 95% threshold needed for herd immunity, we put vulnerable populations at risk, including infants too young to be vaccinated and immunocompromised individuals who can't receive vaccines safely.

Grim picture starting to develop. Our society is very very sick.

The erosion of trust in established institutions isn't just about misinformation. It's about a fundamental breakdown in how we evaluate expertise and authority. When someone with no medical training can gain more credibility than epidemiologists who've spent their careers studying disease transmission, we've lost something essential about how societies function. The measles vaccine is 97% effective with two doses, yet we're seeing outbreaks because people choose to believe conspiracies over fact

People will (rightfully) call out social media and its lack of moderation as being a key driver of vaccine misinformation, but I can't help but feel that the true issue is the fact that many people in our society would rather trust random people online than trained medical professionals, public health experts, and decades of robust scientific evidence.

Measles outbreak: child dies in Liverpool as vaccine rate plunges

The death in a city where one in four young children are unprotected is fuelling warnings that the virus could spread like โ€˜wildfireโ€™

This UK gov petition has less than a month to go. With over 80K signatures, it's close.

Petition: Legally enshrine the right of adults to physically transition using NHS services

Introduce a law to legally protect the right of those aged 18 and over to transition using NHS services. This should specifically cover physical transition, including hormone treatment and surgery, as otherwise I believe it could potentially be interpreted as including conversion therapy.

I'm Keiron - I build AI stuff for the Welsh NHS and somehow convinced them to let me automate clinical coding.

Big fan of FOSS everything. When I'm not wrangling NHS data, you'll find me taking photos, making music, cooking, or getting wound up about politics.

Chat to me about terrible NHS IT systems or Welsh place names that are impossible to pronounce.

Almost Half of Female Transport Workers Suffer Sexual Assault at Work

A new survey reveals the shocking extent of sexual violence experienced by bus and taxi drivers. Polly Smythe reports.

irony isn't lost on me that establishment democrats have spent more time and energy criticising Mamdani than they have Trump's actual authoritarian policies. A progressive who wants free buses gets harsher treatment than a president undermining democracy. Says everything about their priorities
