i picked up on their motives instantly and spent the entire exchange talking about how you can’t necessarily take a parent’s word about a kid’s pronouns. i talked about how if kids’ safety is a priority then we (as a society) should be working towards fostering acceptance so kids feel safe in their own homes
i don’t know if i got through to them. they were both half a head taller and built like trucks, but i stared burning righteousness into their eyes and they slunk away like scolded toddlers
sometimes i think about when the cops came to my door looking for a missing person, and it was extremely obvious the way they were misgendering the person they were looking for a trans kid on behalf of the transphobic family the kid had run away from
i don’t have proof that they targeted my apartment for search bc i was basically the only overtly trans person in the whole town. all i know is i’d never seen the kid anywhere before, and they didn’t invite themselves into my neighbors’ houses
my social media intern quit to go to grad school* so if my online presence seems off lately, apologies i never learned how to use this app

when i press the power button it does this sad little sputter then gives up. everything was working perfectly fine last night before i went to bed. i’m guessing it needs a new power supply unit, but if someone smarter than myself wants to chime in with an “actually the problem is more likely...”, please be my guest
