Another gorgeous sunset. Life is good

As I was finishing Whitehead's Modes of Thought, I almost missed the spectacular view outside my window...

But fortunately, my senses woke me to this wonder. And here is my attempt to share it.

Whitehead's quote that I was pondering:"It is never bare thought or bare existence that we are aware of. I find myself as essentially a unity of hopes, fears, valuations of alternatives, decisions--all of them subjective reactions to the environment as active in my nature. My unity--which is Descartes' 'I am' -- is my process of shaping this welter of material into a consistent pattern of feelings."

Bird doing an "I'm done with my bath" dance in our fountain... today is a good day!
I shepherded Michael Weiss' paper on patterns as distinctions for EuroPLoP 2025... and here we are (along with my temporary award---a shepherd's staff) at the conference banquet.

This year marks the 32nd year for the PLoP conference... it will be held in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge at Skamania Lodge. If you want to spark your creativity and satisfy your itch to explore the potential of patterns, I encourage you to attend PLoP and submit a proposal for an Imagination Run Wild session. Last year we had sessions such as exploring patterns for Flourishing with Feminism, The Great Data Bake-off: Crafting Delicious Data Analytics Patterns, and The New Emperor's Old, Old Clothes: Patterns & Programming in the Era of AI...

Today's view out my window... shadows at sunset. Ah, the weekend is here!
Dusk.. And another beautiful January day in the Willamette Valley.
The sunrise this morning was spectacular! Another non rainy day in Sherwood, Oregon
Not often that I get a glimpse into corporate values outside of SW companies... But spotted these through the window at PDX Movers (a moving company located next to our favorite local brewery, Stickman's... ). These seemed reasonable, fun, and definitely worth sharing!
Today's bake. Pumpkin sourdough.
