If we never question our motives, if we never examine our assumptions, if we never fact-check our beliefs, we may not necessarily be in a cult, but we will have a cult mindset, which makes us more susceptible to cults and other such con artists.
If humanity is to survive, then wisdom, compassion, and generosity need to become as bold and assertive as foolishness, cruelty, and greed tend to be.

Oof... I feel like murica's been kicked down unda. Not that we don't deserve it.
That we insist world peace be on our terms alone is why we will never have world peace.
We don't really need AI that badly. Humanity has NI aplenty, even if we oft under-utilize or misuse it. What we could use is Artificial Wisdom and Artificial Compassion. The natural instances of those things are harder to come by in great quantities and they are far more necessary to our long term survival.
Hey Trump administration, when and if you announce the American death toll for your military adventure in Iran, be sure to include all the people who will die right here because money that could easily be allocated for healthcare is instead going to your stupid fucking war.
Your periodic reminder that the GOP currently has complete control of the government; they control the White House, both Houses of Congress, and they pretty much have a sympathetic Supreme Court. So, anything that's going on, or not going on, government-wise that you hate, you know who to blame.
Whatever you're doing now is what you would have done in 1930's Germany as the nazis were rising to power. You would have either helped them, resisted them, or did nothing and let others deal with the consequences. You have the same choices here in America, today.
