Whenever I sit in my backyard and try to just enjoy the evening, and hear the endless noise, noise, noise of my neighbors and their various power tools and yard implements, I always think of the scene in Timeline by Michael Crichton where he arrives in the past and is startled by the silence because of the absence of machinery.

I get that traveling with kids is hard, but parents who let their kids scream for a half an hour in the airport (I’m not talking about crying, I’m talking about gleeful screaming and yelling from one end of the terminal to another) are doing it wrong.
But also I know that stabbing people in the airport is bad and will delay my trip home, so I will try to remain patient.
Jeff Atwood@rbowen ok, then how do we get the humans to NOT ask it to do that other stuff? Also, the art/music/writing is mid at best, so how do we get humans to appreciate art/music/writing in a more sophisticated way? These are the core questions.
This is what I want AI doing for me. Not art or music or creative writing. This kind of stuff.
