I did a bit of archaeological research to uncover references for this week's Sunday Best. This was my guy from Loadout, a third-person arena shooter about fiddly weapon customization. My main gun was an electric pulse cannon called "Kill-a-Watts" and the backup was a flaming LMG named "Roast Beef."
For this week's Sunday Best we're going all the way back to Cyborg Justice on the Genesis. I played this game a lot and I always liked to make this one guy: round torso, big stampy feet and the buzzsaw hand. I always remember the magazine ad for this game vividly; you might too if you're of an age.
@chris_evelyn It's just under 700 pages, but the pages are a lot of work to make!
@gooseliketyping It's an organic process. Guide it, but don't try to control it too hard. You'll be surprised where it might take you. Good luck!
@gooseliketyping Don't dwell on making any piece of art perfect. If something isn't quite right, fix it on the next one. Also, don't plan your story too far ahead, you'll get a great idea midway through executing your original idea and then things will have to change. Be flexible, and let your characters guide you a little bit towards where they want to be.

@leaf Oh I'm glad! It's a fun little project I started on Cohost, something to do for the love of drawing outside of my other work. I'd be interested to hear what you think as you get through it, but also I hope you enjoy the journey!

We built the site to be like a fun toy, there's a few secrets hidden here and there. You can change the color palette with the Settings button in the top right, by the way.

It's March 13th and that means it's Dead Winter's 19th Anniversary. Nineteen years in the webcomic mines... it's been a long time! Whenever you first picked it up, whenever you drifted apart and whenever you happened to find it again, thanks for sticking around. #webcomics

It's been a hard and busy few weeks, but I've got another Space Person for you to read about. https://titan.garden/entry/rattle.html A holographic Android who is fascinated by the phenomena of organic decomposition as a bridge between death and new life.
Tonight our Sunday Best feature is the Houndmaster from a charming Crawl-like sidescroller called Vagante. Lovingly referred to as the Dogmancer, I loved to spec into skills that increased damage when you threw the dog at monsters. The dog roams on its own, but you can also carry it on your back!
Today's Sunday Best isn't a person, it's a plane from an old Vlambeer game called Luftrausers! The music changes to match your airplane. My favorite configuration is called "Shipwreck," a sword-hulled amphibious prop plane with shotgun cannons, it can divebomb through boats & burst up from the sea.
