Something I've tried to do over the last week is to find academic research on #TicketOffices; their value, use, #Community impacts etc.

There is very little.

We need to do more of this sort of research then; amongst other things, it can help us resist the erosion of #publictransport.

Pictures of LNER’s trainbow "Together" arriving into King’s Cross for the first time - an absolutely beautiful design. The last 3 coaches (M-K) feature the intersex-inclusive pride flag, Trans flag, and the Bisexual flag.
I have passed this pre-1965 sign at #Clapton quite a few times this year and never noticed it. #railwayhistory

Insurance against rain-soaked #holidays was a thing?

Eagle Star #insurance offered such policies and in 1939 the #LondonandNorthEasternRailway, as part of its "Meet the #Sun on the East Coast" #marketing campaign, arranged for a 10% premium reduction for customers visiting the East Coast.

#Solidarity with @[email protected] members on strike today!

Bikes do not only move
➡️ more people in a lot less space,
➡️ with zero emissions,
➡️ creating a ton of liveability & health benefits.

🚲 Bikes do also nurture better social interactions while doing all of that.

Now here's a #festive family-friendly train!

The 5.30pm #KingsCross to #Newcastle express on #ChristmasDay, 1913, had in the dining car a #Christmas tree laden with toys and crackers for #children. The train was also decorated.

I have #NewShoes...oh my. 😁

Like this correspondent, I’m near the end of my career but I will be striking next time for all my colleagues. They’ve seen salaries denuded, jobs cut, facilities and resources pared to the bone. Student experience is maintained by their professionalism https://www.theguardian.com/education/2022/nov/23/why-im-joining-the-university-staff-strike
