That feeling when you want to block hf.space on your server but you realize that the way domain blocks are implemented in Smithereen, you can only block a server that has known actors, not an entire domain with all its subdomains... Time for new #Smithereen features I guess.

#Smithereen 0.8 is out! In this release:

- Reposts and quote-reposts
- Post embeds
- Remote interaction popup when you try to interact with a post without an account
- New profile fields (starting to feel like a social network now)
- Comment view setting: threaded (default), two-level, flat
- Hover cards for mentions
- Mention autocomplete
- Bookmarks for profiles and groups
- Lots of minor fixes and improvements

#Smithereen 0.7 is out, finally making it practical to run a server with open signups.

This release brings too many changes to list here, both internal and external.
- All-new moderation tools: role-based permissions, revamped reports, new ways of limiting user accounts, and so much more!
- All-new media storage: Smithereen now keeps track of references to files, simplifying the code, and adds support for S3 object storage.
- Tens of minor bug fixes and UX improvements.

Wenn man in #Wiesbaden von einem Ort namens "Unter den Eichen" hört, denken die Meisten wahrscheinlich an ein hiesiges Freizeitgelände (das landläufig unter dem Namen "Lufti"- Luft- und Sonnenbad Unter den Eichen - bekannt ist).
In unmittelbarer Nähe davon gibt es aber eine Gedenkstätte gleichen Namens.

Denn mitten in Wiesbaden stand ein Konzentrationslager.
