The National Puppetry Conference provides a meeting and creating ground for master artisans to pass their craft and ingenuity to new artists in the field of puppetry. Each June, participants gather from across the globe to create works that defy the bounds of contemporary theater and the imagination.
Good questions to ask about rules from Chris Guillebeau:
* Who made the rules?
* Who benefits from the rules?
* Whose authority is threatened if the rules are broken?
* Could the rules be bent, modified, overlooked or changed?
* What are the people who made the rules afraid of?
As Chris says, when you start thinking this way, you look at rules differently. Rules are about power and dominance as much as safety and equality.
Ask these questions the next time you encounter someone else's rules.
