A very short and almost unknown tale by Danish poet Hans Christian Andersen is set to music by Danish ensemble Via Artis Konsort.

With English and Spanish subtitles :)

The very interesting context for Andersens tale is resumed in this short article: https://ballhaus.dk/en/post/tale-of-the-cigar

Yesterday, December 8th, faithful Catholics celebrated 'The Immaculate Conception' which, according to the dogma of the Catholic Church, led to the birth of the Virgin Mary 9 months later.
The Baroque song 'Todo el mundo en general' played a special role in that the Immaculate Conception was elevated to Catholic dogma. It's a funny story about a pop tune from the 17th century that turned into churchly political propaganda:

In chorus: Todo el mundo en general

Todo el mundo en general was a popular religious Baroque song with lyrics by the Andalusian poet Miguel Cid. It was later used for a famous organ variation by Spanish Baroque composer Francisco Correa de Arauxo.
