Thank you to the unnamed person in Mexico who, yesterday, became Crest's first paid user!
Crest: The podcast app that flows, without piling up | Product Hunt

Crest is a podcast player built around a simple idea: your queue should feel like a river, not a to-do list. New episodes flow in automatically. Older ones drift away when fresh ones arrive. No backlog guilt. No phantom obligations. Just the podcasts you actually want to hear, right now. One-time purchase. No subscription. No ads. No account required. Your listening stays on your device. It's podcast listening the way it should've always felt.

Oh so Stage Manager on the Mac is actually very good #Mac
@simonbs My app took about 76 hours to move to In Review last week. Something’s going on over there

Honestly, I just wanted a podcast experience that felt like entertainment again. Recently I’ve felt like podcast apps looked more like to-do lists. Crest is my attempt at fixing that.

If this is resonating with you, Crest is available now on Android and iOS. Try for free, then unlock unlimited podcasts subscriptions with a one-time $2.99 in-app purchase.

Crest — Fresh podcasts, always.

Crest queues the freshest episodes from your favourite shows — so you're always current, never overwhelmed by a backlog.

There are plenty of escape hatches — you can Save an episode to ensure it never gets removed from your Queue. And you can browse a show’s back catalog and manually queue up an episode you missed.

There are some sensible default rules, and you can customise the rules for each show. You can change:

1. Whether episodes go to the start or end of the queue
2. How many episodes of a show you want to keep in your queue
3. An age limit for episodes

Crest quietly keeps things organised by cleaning up old episodes to make way for new ones. No more having to archive episodes manually.

Something I’ve been working on recently — inspired by @tg — is a podcast app called Crest.

The idea is to eliminate the idea of a backlog, thereby lifting the guilt I feel every time I see my queue and am confronted with how behind I am on my podcasts.

Crest just… lets things go.

Meetings *are* the work

Wherein I take aim at the common tech trope that people need to limit meetings to get work done.

Medium

@Daojoan I read a Medium post a few years ago called “Meetings are the work”.

I think about that title all the time.
