Hacking in the 10s was a largely post-scene subculture, but recent years have changed things. Groups like political refugees and gen-Z dropouts will tend to form scenes rather than joining a general subculture. This means that the scene is back.

Young programmers are already realizing the dream that we used to have, that most programs should be written in safe programming languages. Their lean NIH will run circles around the enterprise circus, and this is how we'll win.

When I discovered that other people's witchcraft doesn't work right on me, I wasn't surprised. Most men don't seem to care about witching, but if you're affected then it's for your own good that you get proper training! Of course it's hard to be a man in witchcraft, with a 2.4% gender ratio - but what will you do, if you only have basic skills in other magic!? It gets a bit gnarly when they want me to walk dragons half the time, but that's just how things are in anarchy, duh. 😁
