#Geology query. Brother-in-law found these nodules on his property in Membury, East #devon Wondered if they are iron nodules? The lower one in both photos in particular is quite heavy. The local geology is "Cretaceous Upper Greensand capped by Chalk, which is often heavily broken up by flint and chert, or buried under Quaternary material".
There are also some fragments of what look like fossilised bone or antler.
Spending a few days in London & walked from Little Venice along the Regent's Canal to Islington. Very impressed with the repurposed gasometers in King's Cross. This whole area has been transformed since I was last here in the early 00s
