The Economist interviewed Tucker Carlson. They got completely dogwalked. They should shut down after this.

A conversation with Tucker Carlson | The Economist Insider

Tucker Carlson is one of MAGA’s biggest stars. Millions listen to him every week, and his punditry has influenced Donald Trump’s presidency. Now, though, he’s become MAGA’s most prominent dissident. Mr Carlson has broken with the White House over the war in Iran, claiming that the conflict will prove catastrophic for the president’s movement—and for America. Mr Trump says that his onetime ally has lost his way. Zanny Minton Beddoes, our editor-in-chief, sits down with Mr Carlson near his Florida home to ask about the fallout from the Iran war and whether MAGA can survive it.

@ppatel @tink But profitable!
@ppatel @tink I wonder if threads is possible? I don't imagine they make a public API available but maybe someone can reverse engineer it at the activitypub layer
@holly Good to know. Hmm. I may be out of options. I don't dislike the fairphone but it is not exactly meeting my needs at the moment. I was thinking about the clicks thing but the keyboard is too small, and clearly meant for thumb typers which is not what I want. I don't understand why they don't put the phone in landscape to make room for more keys.
You remember Robert Mueller for failing to take down Donand Trump. I remember Robert Mueller for failing to take down the NFL. We are not the same.

Fifty Years of Hard-Won Rights Are on the Line: The Fight to Save Section 504

Published in support of the National Federation of the Blind's March 2026 call to action. There is a lawsuit moving quietly through the American legal system right now that could undo five decades of civil rights progress for tens of millions of disabled Americans. It is called Texas v. Kennedy, and if you haven't heard of it yet, that is exactly the problem.

Nice to see that all that pushback has worked!

Trump Wants to Put You in a Massive, Secret Government Database

Agencies are reportedly pooling immigration data, Social Security numbers, and more into a central database. FPF is suing to learn how deep it goes.

It really bums me out that I keep seeing blog posts from technical people like "putting aside the obvious moral and ethical implications of LLMs, I'm interested in evaluating whether they can be useful for my work."

Like "putting aside the obvious moral and ethical concerns of breaking into my neighbours' houses, I'm interested in evaluating whether this can be useful for acquiring other people's valuables."
