Do you know that rage of wanting to be wanted by someone you love? "Of An Age" is glistening in that rage. Set against a backdrop of struggle against discrimination of immigrants, this masterpiece captures inter-sectionalities like nothing I've seen before in a queer film (perhaps, except PIB). This one won't make you smile. This film is a rage against privilege, when nothing is ever enough to deserve what one desires. A brilliant one!
"And Then We Danced", a Georgian queer film, will make you fall in love with each frame. It moves like a gazelle, tap-dancing to the sound of rain falling on rusty streets of a crumbling economy. Every frame is queer; every moment tells the story of a country struggling to stake its claim to belong to the European society. A story of forbidden love and fearlessness, oppression and resistance, dogma and dance.
People who like to make predictions are predicting that this Indian Election would decide if India remains a democracy (whatever that might mean).
