@GrapheneOS If I may ask, as various sources say otherwise. Will there be one dedicated model with GrapheneOS out of the box, and will the rest of the models be hardware-ready for installing this system? Or is hardware support and manual installation the only option?

We're happy to announce a long-term partnership with Motorola. We're collaborating on future devices meeting our privacy and security standards with official GrapheneOS support.

We were likely going to be able to release experimental Pixel 10 support very soon and it's getting disrupted. The attacks on our team with ongoing libel and harassment have escalated, raids on our chat rooms have escalated and more. It's rough right now and support is appreciated.

@GrapheneOS is being threatened by French authorities for refusing to add backdoors and they're dealing with coordinated attacks in French media right now. They're pulling out of France entirely, moving all their servers, and fighting off a wave of bullshit one-sided reporting that makes them look like they're helping criminals.

They need us to fight back. Support them however you can, whether that's a dollar, sharing their story, pushing back on the garbage news coverage when you see it, or just telling someone you know about what's happening. All of it matters because they're drowning in attacks from governments and media and bad actors who want them gone.

This is the only Android OS that actually makes me feel like privacy isn't just marketing. They fight for us now they need us to fight for them.

The EU is pushing Chat Control and creating an environment where governments feel empowered to threaten developers into compliance, and if we stay quiet we're letting it happen. Show up for them in whatever way you're able to.

@Tutanota And nothing will change that.
@Em0nM4stodon I still can't fathom their interest in this. Money? After all, as politicians, they earn a lot of it. Fame? Who would want to be famous for something like that? Or perhaps an attempt to create a system that could eliminate political opponents to maintain power? But who would vote for those who blatantly took away such basic rights? I just don't know. I don't know what interest they could possibly have in this πŸ˜₯

The erosion of privacy rights we are seeing worldwide is directly linked to the rise of authoritarianism we are seeing worldwide.

Lawmakers Want to Ban VPNsβ€”And They Have No Idea What They're Doing https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2025/11/lawmakers-want-ban-vpns-and-they-have-no-idea-what-theyre-doing

I'm gonna be honest here: banning VPNs is not the solution. People who want to find content like porn will get it one way or another. It is going to harm legitimate users who use VPNs for security reasons, like on public WiFi or for getting inside a corporate network. I can't log into any of our servers/cloud w/o a VPN. All remote employees use a VPN. We replicate data between 2 data centers using a VPN

Lawmakers Want to Ban VPNsβ€”And They Have No Idea What They're Doing

It's unfortunately no longer enough to force websites to check your government-issued ID before you can access certain content, because politicians have now discovered that people are using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to protect their privacy and bypass these invasive laws. Their solution? Entirely ban the use of VPNs.

@Tutanota Why do I get the feeling that lately, in so many countries, new regulations are popping up with only one purpose - to erode privacy πŸ”“? It feels like a bad joke. I can't keep up anymore.

I wish I could fight them all at once, put pressure everywhere 🌍, no matter where I live. But I don't have the time. I'm already drowning in an endless to-do list.

Why couldn't the government set a different deadline? Why are they so determined to push this through? My mind can't wrap around it  I just hope they come to their senses and never implement it πŸ™
