Yea! The last 12month home electricity was negative, ie I made a profit.

Thanks to #solar, #myenergi (#zappi + #libbi) #octopusenergy, #homeassistant I averaged -£2.33 per month ... thats including hot water and car charging.

I think the biggest effect was the lowering of the standing charge in April ... but also improving automations and making use of octopus saving sessions & free electricity.

Last year's average monthly electricity cost was £1.04, including electric car charging and hot water. So export solar as much as I can, charge house battery over night with cheap electricity and automate everything. Make money over summer that covers most of the winter costs.

After seeing Mike Berners-Lee ( https://bsky.app/profile/mikebernerslee.bsky.social ) at the also festival, I bought and just finished his book "A climate of truth". Kinda of depressing and hopeful at the same time 🙂

One of my focuses at the moment is social media in u3a, so I'll be pushing the "truth in media" message a bit that way.
