Miracle on Cary

Last night I waited in line for 30 minutes to get into ā€œMiracle on Caryā€, a Christmas-themed pop-up bar hosted at The Jasper (and other participating bars around the world) for the past…

Had a little too much fun to blog about it tonight, but I had a BLAST at Miracle on Cary this evening. More tomorrow. Plenty of photos. #RVADine
Although apparently this show predates Cheer!?
My wife is watching Cheer Squad on Netflix, which is like a discount Canadian version of Cheer. And I’m not talking about the quality/skill of the cheerleaders. The show itself is so hilariously bad that it’s like a Christopher Guest mockumentary about cheering.
Am I the only one seeing a trend in logo changes to black text over a slightly muted color? Main example is the Amazon Prime Video logo, but I’ve seen a few others.
I’m not a dev, but I’m in the tech industry and have been a computer nerd since I was little. Starting to think about migrating to https://hachyderm.io/. Seems like a really positive community.

Hachyderm is a safe space, LGBTQIA+ and BLM, primarily comprised of tech industry professionals world wide. Note that many non-user account types have restrictions - please see our About page.

Standing in line for a pop-up holiday-themed bar like I’m in my dang 20s.

I’ve been seeing some rainbow flag billboards around #RVA from some group at seedsowers.net. I read some of their website so you don't have to.

It’s a lot of long, rambling pages of text, and it seems to amount to the "love the sinner hate the sin" idea. I used to believe this when I was still a Christian, but it presumes sinfulness. I’ve got no time for that anymore. They cover other topics, but are generally quite conservative.

Always interesting to see all my YouTube #photography subs posting about the same thing when a vendor/manufacturer releases something new—in this case Harmon’s Kentmere stock in 120.

This is particularly interesting since Kentmere is generally aimed at student/budget constrained photographers (though the price of film/processing/scanning makes more of us budget constrained every day). I think it’s smart marketing though; show the full range of capability in the hands of skilled photographers.

Watching *Disenchanted* with the family (we’re all fans of its predecessor), and while the movie overall is C-minus, made-for-TV quality, Alan Menken brought the absolute heat on the songs. Some top-tier Disney fairytale music.
